It is impossible for Europe to stop what is happening in the Gaza Strip, because the US openly supports Israel, said Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, APA reports, citing EFE.
According to her, the EU has become an active player in the international arena in defending the rights of the Palestinians. However, this is not enough:
"The tense situation continues and we cannot stop it. Because, as you know, the US strongly supports the Israeli government and its steps," the EU official emphasized.
Kallas also noted that she believes that she has done more to stop the conflict than her predecessor, High Representative Joseph Borrell.
