During the talks between the Ukrainian and US delegations on the peace plan in Geneva, the issue of reducing the number of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was not raised, RBC-Ukraine writes, citing to the Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Andrii Hnatov, APA reports.
“There was no talk of reducing the military forces. It was about views on the number of the army for peacetime. This is a very controversial topic,” Hnatov said.
According to him, both Kyiv and Washington voiced the “correct opinion” that the best guarantee for Ukraine is a well-equipped and combat-ready army.
