The Minister of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Lord Vernon Coaker, is on a visit to Armenia, APA reports, citing the Armenian Ministry of Defence.
Lord Vernon Coaker met with the Minister of Defence, Suren Papikyan, in Yerevan and discussed issues of cooperation in the field of defence.
The meeting was also attended by the ambassadors of both countries, as well as Major Thomas Shorland Boll, the United Kingdom’s first resident military attaché to Armenia.
The ministers noted that the appointment of resident attachés in both Armenia and the United Kingdom will help further expand defence cooperation between the two countries.
A number of international and regional security issues were also discussed at the meeting.
Note that the UK Minister of State for Defence, Lord Vernon Coaker, was on a visit to Azerbaijan yesterday, where he held several meetings.
