The owner of Georgia’s “Crystal Group” company, Vladimir Stepanyan, has been released on bail in the amount of two million lari (740,000 US dollars), APA’s local bureau reports.
The Tbilisi City Court made a decision regarding this.
Stepanyan is accused of illegal entrepreneurial activity and legalizing income obtained through criminal means. On November 10 of this year, the court chose pre-trial detention as a preventive measure against him.
The investigation determined that since 2019, Stepanyan had unauthorized construction carried out in the Bakuriani resort, including five apart-hotels, a cable car, and a ski track. The income obtained from the sale of the apartment-hotels amounted to several million lari. Although the Bakuriani Development Agency fined the businessman several times for violating the law, the construction work was not halted.
