Armenia expressed support to Estonia on border incident with Russia

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Margus Tsahkna and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan have held a phone coversation, the Estonian Minister noted on X, APA reports.

Margus Tsahkna noted that Ararat Mirzoyan expressed Armenia’s support on yesterday’s border incident with Russia.

"Our main focus was the situation in the South Caucasus and what could Estonia and EU do to support the situation move in the right direction," Estonian Foreign Minister stated.

Recall that the Estonian police and border guard said in a statement that some 24 out of 50 buoys recently placed on the Narva river to mark sailing routes were removed in the early hours of Thursday. The Estonian side said that the location of buoys between Russia and Estonia had been disputed since the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Buoys are strategically placed in the border river to prevent ships from entering foreign waters.
