Over the past five days, 29 protesters have been detained for illegally blocking Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, APA's local bureau reports, citing Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
It was noted that the protesters did not heed the numerous calls of patrol police officers not to commit illegal actions and not to block the road, and although the number of participants was small, the demonstrators again blocked Rustaveli Avenue, artificially obstructing traffic.
The MIA once again called on the participants of the action not to commit illegal actions, otherwise all violators will be identified and appropriate legal measures will be taken against them.
It should be noted that since October 17, penalties for violating the rules for holding rallies in Georgia have been tightened. 15-day administrative arrest is applied for illegally blocking the road during the action.
