28 international organizations to observe local elections in Georgia

28 international and 27 local observation organizations will monitor the local elections in Georgia tomorrow, said Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, at a briefing, APA reports.

According to him, the voting process will also be observed by representatives of embassies of various countries in Georgia and CECs of 21 countries.

The CEC Chairman said that about a thousand representatives representing 73 media organizations have registered to cover the elections.

Note that 12 parties are participating in the elections. Voters will elect mayors and members of municipalities in 64 cities and regions, including Tbilisi, for the next four years.

3,061 polling stations have been established across Georgia, of which 2,284 will be held electronically and 777 will be held traditionally. 10 polling stations have been opened in penitentiary institutions.

The total number of voters is 3,513,818. Of these, 3,130,348 people will vote using electronic technologies.
