The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) decreased its forecast for the average daily global oil demand for 2024-2025, APA-Economics reports citing the monthly report of OPEC.
According to the forecast, the indicated indicator is predicted to be 105.99 million barrels (previous forecast – 106.11 million barrels) next year, which is 1.74 million barrels more in comparison with the forecast indicator of 2024.
OPEC forecasts that the global oil demand for this year will be at the level of 104.24 million barrels (previous forecast - 104.32 million barrels), which means an increase of 2.03 million barrels compared to the indicator of 2023.
According to the report, the global daily oil demand last year was at the level of 102.21 million barrels, which means an increase of 2.55 million barrels compared to the previous year.
It should be noted that according to OPEC data, the global daily oil demand in 2022 was at the level of 99.66 million barrels. Thus, the growth rate of oil demand in 2022 was 2.74 million barrels.
