Joint venture to be established in Baku for exporting green energy from Central Asia to Europe

Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to establish a joint venture in Baku to implement the project of exporting green energy from Central Asian countries to Europe, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Orkhan Zeynalov said at the first meeting of Energy ministers of Central Asian countries held in Astana, APA-Economics reports citing TASS.

"There is good dynamics and progress in the implementation of the project to connect the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan for the purpose of exporting green energy from Central Asia to Azerbaijan and further to Europe. The parties have agreed on the technical task for conducting the preliminary technical and economic feasibility study for the project's implementation. With the participation of national energy companies, a joint working group has reached an agreement on establishing the joint venture in Baku," the Deputy Minister noted.

According to him, the parties have also agreed on the text of the draft strategic partnership agreement on the development and the transmission of green energy.

Orkhan Zeynalov believes that the prompt signing of the document at a high level will contribute to the successful implementation of the project.

"The export corridors passing through Azerbaijan, along with others, open up broad prospects for transmitting green energy from Central Asian countries to Europe," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
