Chief Executive Officer of CB Canton of GenÃ¨ve: â€œAzerbaijan plays an important role in the regionâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev has met with the delegation led by Chief Executive Officer of the Central Bank of Canton of GenÃ¨ve Blaise Goetschin, who is on a visit to Baku.

SOCAR told APA-Economics that during the meeting, R.Abdullayev noted the establishment of close relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland and informed about economic development processes ongoing in the country. Speaking about spreading European values in Azerbaijan, especially, religious tolerance, the SOCAR President underlined the establishment of all opportunities for the development of democratic institutions and activity of equal people belonging to various religions.

In his turn, Goetschin highly estimated the cooperation of the bank, which has historical and wealthy traditions for more than 200 year, with SOCAR and noted that the bank attempted the cooperation with the best companies of the world and it proud of the relations with SOCAR: â€œAzerbaijan plays an important role not only in the South Caucasus but also region.â€ Abdullayev spoke about the projects of regional and global significance carried out by the company and the role of Azerbaijan in energy security of Europe. Abdullayev said that the most of the sale of crude oil of Azerbaijan was being implemented via SOCAR over SOCAR Trading. He is also expressed his confidence on further extension of the cooperation in the next years.

They also exchanged view about the other issues of mutual interest.
