Oil, Gas and Media conference in Baku ends

Baku – APA-Economics. Today, the Oil, Gas and Media Conference, held in Baku under the support of the International Press Institution and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, has finished, said the Head of the Organizing Committee Umud Rahimoglu

At the second day of the conference, a session named as “My country is rich in oil, why am I so poor?” started. Reporter of Financial Times Tom Burgis, journalist of New Vision Joe Nem, TV Presenter Artyom Shevchenko and Director-General of Azerpress Aida Sultanova reported.

The session “Baku: Capital of Black Gold” was moderated by head of Azad Azerbaijan International TV Azer Khalilov. In this session, SOCAR vice-president Vitali Baylarbayov, Mikayil Jabbarov, Director of the State Department of the Historical and Architectural Reserve of Icherisheher held discussions.

In the session “Usage of social media by oil companies in the struggle against public opinion” moderated by Forbes reporter Kashmir Hill, Reuters’ UK correspondent Tom Bergin, OpenOil’s German researcher Zara Rahman made reports, answered the questions.

Chief of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov participated in today’s sessions.
