Baku to host international Oil, gas and Media Conference

IPI’s Azerbaijan National Committee says that, more than 200 press representatives, including Azerbaijani journalists will join the conference.

Representatives of leading press agencies, leading companies from different oil-gas producing countries, international organizations, press specialists, experts and journalists register officially to affirm participation in the conference.

Conference aims top define the role of oil and gas in free press, development of interaction between journalists and energy partners, facilitate the development of media with the efforts of energy producer countries.

SOCAR is a main sponsor of the event. European Council, OpenOil, IREX, The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), Oil, Gas and Energy Right (OGER), Oil and Gas Eurasia Magazine, Upstream Newspaper and Worldoils are partnership of the conference. Other partners are International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), Centre for Economic and Social Development (CESD), Azeri Press (APA) and Trend Information Agency.

The topics include Freedom of “Oil and Press – Well in the Waste Waters?”, Risk and Rewarding”, “Following of the Issue (keeping on the agenda)”: What the government must tell you?”, “”Research, extraction and security”, “My country is rich in oil, why am I so poor?”, “Baku: Capital of Black Gold” and etc.
