An agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey on TANAP gas pipeline
The Host Country Agreement between the Turkish Government and Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project Company was signed by Turkish minister of energy and natural resources Taner Yildiz and SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev on behalf of TANAP.
A main intergovernmental agreement between two countries was signed by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Agreement was also signed by Azerbaijani minister of industry and energy Natig Aliyev and Turkish minister of energy and natural resources Taner Yildiz.
After the signing ceremony Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that these projects are manifestation of the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries.
He noted that this project will serve to provide Turkey with energy by brother country, also serve to strengthen the position of ensuring energy security of Europe.
Erdogan said that by joining eastern shore of the Caspian Sea countries this project, its possible to reach 50 billion cubic meters of gas transportation.
Speaking at the ceremony Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the projects that carried out between Azerbaijan and Turkey base of friendly and brotherly relations. He noted that political relations of Azerbaijan and Turkey have no analogue in the world.
The President stressed that TANAP will be implemented by the financial and technical resources of Turkey and Azerbaijan. The project is scheduled to be implemented within 5 years and project estimate is 7 billion manats.
