Turkmenistan increases oil transport via Baku-Ceyhan pipeline by 39%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January-May, 2012, 18.9 mln tons of oil were transported via Azerbaijan’s main pipelines, down 5.5% from year earlier.

State Statistical Committee says 76.5% of transportation was realized via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) and 14.4 mln tons of oil were transported via this pipeline, down 5.2% in comparison to a year earlier: “During this period, 1,384,700 tons of Turkmen oil were transported via BTC, up 38.5% from year earlier”.

Along with this, 8.7 bcm of gas were transported via Azerbaijan main gas pipelines, up 3% from previous year: “1/5 part of transported gas was implemented via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline and 1.8 bcm of gas were transported via this pipeline”.
