Azerbaijan sees 28% decline in marketable salt production within the last 5 years

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Within the last 5 years the volume of marketable salt decreased by 28.1% in Azerbaijan, the State Statistical Committee told APA.
‘If 7,126.3 tonnes of salt was produced in 2007, this figure hit 7,527 tonnes in 2008 by rising 5.6%’, told the Committee.
Nevertheless, salt production dropped in the next years. Thus, in 2009 it made 5,465.8 tonnes; in 2010 – 4,448.8 tonnes; in 2011 – 5,123.6 tonnes.
