Transportation of Turkmen oil via Baku-Ceyhan pipeline increased by 47%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. In January – April, 2012, 14.9 mln tons of oil were transported via Azerbaijan’s main pipelines, down 6.9% from year earlier.

State Statistical Committee says 76.5% of transportation was realized via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and 11.4 mln tons of oil were transported during the same period, down 6.6% from year earlier: “During this period, 1,170,100 tons of transit Turkmen oil were transported via BTC, up 47% from previous year”.

Besides, 962.9 thousand tons of Turkmen oil were transported from Sangachal terminal via BTC, up 56.2% from previous year.

Along with this, 7.3 bcm of gas were transported via Azerbaijan’s main gas pipeline, up 3% in comparison to a year ago. 1/5 part of transported gas was transported via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline and 1.6 bcm of gas were transported via this pipeline, down 11.1% from year earlier.
