Industrial production drops 0.3% in Q1, in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In January-March, this year, AZN 9.4 bn-products was produced in industrial sector of Azerbaijan, down 0.35 compared to last year.

State Statistical Committee says production in non-oil sector grew by 16.5% and made 17.1% of industrial production, while production in oil sector dropped 35%.

AZN 7.3 bn or 78.3% of industrial production fell on share of mining field, AZN 1.5 bn or 15.95 â€“ processing sphere, AZN 493.4 mln or 5.35 - electricity, gas and steam production, distribution and supply section, AZN 44 mln or 0.5% - water supply, waste treatment and processing.

During the reporting period, production in processing field rose 21.95, production of textile industry - 67.7%, printing operation - 6.5%, the production of chemical industry products - 1,6%, rubber and plastic products - 2.9 times, production of construction materials - 9.4%, fabricated metal products industry - 2 times, manufacture of computers and other electronic equipment - 37 times, production of electrical equipment - 4.9 times, machinery and equipment manufacturing - 2.2%, manufacture of other transport equipment - 18.1%, production of furniture - 3.4 times, machinery and equipment installation and repair - 2, 1.

Production in water supply, waste treatment and processing section grew by 7.1%.
