Deputy minister: â€œAzerbaijan must study foreign experience in creation of industrial parksâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Creation of industrial park in Azerbaijan needs study of foreign experience, deputy minister of economic development Nizayi Safarov said at the regional conference held in Baku.

Speaking about the cooperation with the UN, Safarov noted that at present, new program was developed on directions of further cooperation between Azerbaijan and the organization. He noted that in order to create favorable conditions for development of competitive industrial production on the basis of innovative and high-tech in the country, support entrepreneurship in this field, provide constant development of non-oil sector Sumgait Chemical Industry Park was established under the order signed by Azerbaijani President at the end of 2011; in order to support entrepreneurship, organization of industrial institutions basing on high-tech and increase populationâ€™s employment in industrial sphere Balakhani Industrial Park was established under the order signed by Head of the State at the end of 2011. â€œIt is considered to create processing of household waste (secondary processing), and service establishments in this territory. Besides, it should be noted that a number of industrial parks successfully operate in the country. The first stage of Sumgayit Technologies Park has been launched at the end of 2009. 17 plants produce different products here. From standpoint of activity of industrial parks, Azerbaijan needs experience of countries developed in this sphereâ€.

Industrial Development Officer at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Olga Memedovic spoke about the importance of the conference. She noted that industrial parks allow the companies, operating here, use high-tech, and attract financial funds easily, at the same time open new work places.
