Italy intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy sphere

Baku. Ali Ahmadov - APA-Economics. Leadership of SOCAR and the delegation headed by Deputy Minister for Economic Development of Italy Claudio De Vichentis held a meeting in Baku.

Vice-president of SOCAR Elshad Nasirov expressed confidence that this meeting will be useful for the development of relations between Italy and Azerbaijan.

De Vichentis thanked for the warm welcome and presented the members of his delegation to the Azerbaijani side.

The meeting focused on talks about the prospects of energy cooperation between the two countries, a comprehensive exchange of views on Southern Gas Corridor project of the EU and Italy’s activity on the implementation of the project. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Azerbaijan and representatives of the Edison Company’s management participated in the meeting.
