Azerbaijani President: We see the development of Azerbaijan’s industrial potential of on the example of Ganja aluminum plant
“The manufactured products are to be exported and at the same time ensure the growing needs of the country. Today we celebrate the opening of the first phase of the plant. There will be 50 thousand tons of high quality aluminum. In the commissioning of the second phase in 2013, production capacity will reach 100 thousand tons, and in the subsequent by investing additional funds we will increase this amount to 200 thousand tons", - the Head of State said.
According to him it is a large and profitable project for the country’s economy, which creates the conditions for opening new jobs. “For information provided to me, there are more than 600 people. Stopped at the time of the crisis, alumina refinery has also recently renewed its activity. There’s 1,200 people are working. In general, over the last few months the work was provided by about 2,000 people. Construction of this plant is a result of industrialization policies in Azerbaijanâ€, - Aliyev said.
The President emphasized that thereis a powerful industrialization process in Azerbaijan. Creating new industries, the state has all kinds of private sector support, developing small and medium-sized businesses. Parallel to the development of small and medium-sized businesses have a great need in the creation of large industrial enterprises. Among them is the Ganja aluminum plant.
This major industrial center is the first step in building in Azerbaijan modern aluminum industry. He expressed confidence that production capacity will be increased by 4 times, and, of course, there will be new opportunities to open new jobs, and non-oil potential of Azerbaijan will become even stronger. This area is also a priority. "For many years we have been, put forward the initiative to develop our non-oil economy, and we see excellent results. Thus, in 2011 non-oil sector in Azerbaijan has increased by almost 10 percent. For oil and gas rich countries is extremely important. Since we see our future in a diversified economy. We see our future in a sustainable economy. Natural resources for us only mean the full development of the country and building a strong non-oil economy. Taken steps in this direction is very gratifying"– the President said.
At the same time construction of the plant is reflected in the program of regional development. This program also pays much attention. All regions of the country developed, maintained landscaping and creative work, new jobs.
Thus, this plant is of great importance for regional development. It is making good progress and the construction of the steel industry. When the foundation is laid for this plant, at the same time laid the foundation of a large metallurgical complex. Work is underway in this area. There is a very serious work on the steel industry.
According to him, in the near future Azerbaijan will operate a new branch of industry - steel. On the one hand, the industry will meet the domestic needs, but on the other - will create a powerful export potential.
â€These are the areas for which there is no need to search for markets. Since these products - aluminum, steel mill products - always in demand. The growing industrial potential and existing programs, as well as global demand for these products will be continued support for these plants. Done in this area of work is included in the overall development strategy of Azerbaijan. This is a strategy of modernization, renovation. Produced here refers to aluminum products world class. At the same time construction of such plants is of great importance to training. Employed professional staff here, of course, must receive a good salary. According to information given to me, this issue is also solvedâ€, - Aliyev said.
