Baku - APA-Economics. Ukraine and Russia plan to hold the next round of talks on changing the conditions of supply of natural gas to Ukraine and other aspects of relations in the gas industry on January 15, 2012.

The Ministry of Energy and the Coal industry announced this in a statement.

The Gazprom gas company’s Board Chairman Alexey Miller and Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry Yurii Boiko met in St. Petersburg (Russia) on December 23.

The two sides noted the positive and constructive nature of the talks that were held in 2011 and the good prospects for the next round of talks that will be held on January 15.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine is trying to reduce the price at which gas is supplied from Russia, but so far without success.

On December 21, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft budget for 2012 based on a projected gas price of USD 416 per thousand cubic meters.

The price of gas for Ukraine is USD 400 per thousand cubic meters in the fourth quarter.
