Transit of Turkmen oil through Azerbaijanâ€™s area rises 73%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In January-November, 2011, 42.3 mln tons of oil were transported via main pipelines of Azerbaijan, down 8.2% from year earlier.

State Statistical Committee says Â¾ part of transportation was realized via Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan pipeline and 32.1 mln of oil were transported via this pipeline, down 9.1% from previous year. At the same time, 1.9 mln tons of Turkmen oil were transported via BTJ through Sangachal terminal, up 72.7% compared to a year earlier.

Besides, 16.7 bcm of gas was transported via main gas pipelines of Azerbaijan, down 4.6% in comparison with a year ago. Â¼ part of transported gas was realized via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline, and 4.1 bcm of gas was transported via this pipeline during 11 months of 2011, down 10.9% on a year earlier.
