“Western-Azeri” platform in the Caspian Sea closed for preventive maintenance

Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. According to working program for 2011, BP-Azerbaijan company continues routine maintenance in platforms in Azeri field. From today, the work in “Western-Azeri” platform has been suspended. BP-Azerbaijan told APA that production works have been stopped in the platform until the end of November. Remind that, daily production from this platform makes 213 thousand barrels of oil.

Remind that, routine maintenance has been started since October 20 and in accordance with this program, each platform in Azeri deposit will be suspended by turns. In general, the works to be carried out within framework of these works to last 5 weeks are connected especially with general mechanical, equipment and control system of the platform.

During routine maintenance the production will be normally continued in other platforms in Azer-Chirag-Gunashli deposit. Moreover, export operations via Sangachal terminal, Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan, Baku-Supsa and South Caucasus pipes will be continued normally too. But their working regime will be coordinated In accordance with routine maintenance program of Azeri platforms.

Departure of tankers will also be continued in a relatively diluted regime accordingly to routine maintenance program.

All of these works are realized on the basis of working program confirmed since the beginning of the year.
