“I think that the ruling party embarks on election in the times when its prestige is at high level. And this is understandable”, said MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev when speaking at the parliamentary meeting held today, APA reports.
He said he as a representative of sound and constructive opposition supported implementation of early parliamentary election: “I think that this is a chance for the opposition to increase its parliamentary seats. Besides, I have always stressed that the lacking feature of the Parliament is the absence of oppositional faction here”.
The MP noted that MPs representing both the ruling party and the oppositional parties were responsible to people: “No procedure has been stipulated in the Constitution regarding implementation of early election. There is such an internationally acclaimed principle that a parliamentary majority can raise an initiative of conducting early election at any time when a crisis breaks out in a country or in order to restore people’s trust in the parliament or being guided by other issues. I think that our parliament also has such an authority”.
