Sergey Kuznetsov:â€ If there is political agreement on establishment of election commissions, we will legalize thisâ€

Sergey Kuznetsov, member of Elections and Referendum Department of Venice Commission told the APA
He announced the position of Venice Commission on amendments to Electoral Code.
â€œWe think that election commission should win all its participants confidence and everyone should rely on these commissions. There are various forms to achieve this. I hope that we will hear any opinions on establishment of election commissions adopted by all layers of society,â€he said.
Mr. Kuznetsov stated that they came to conclusion basing on information received by Venice Commission after elections that the society does not much rely on election commissions.
â€œWe are not political organization, we only deal legal issues. If there is political agreement on establishment of election commissions, we will legalize this,â€ he said. Mr. Kuznetsov noted that there are a lot of proposals on establishment of election commissions but Azerbaijan will make final decision./APA/
