Experts meet in Azerbaijani capital for arranging OIC Conference of heads of law-enforcement bodies

Two-day meeting will focus on increasing cooperation on fighting against international terrorism, organized crimes, illegal sale of firearms, human trafficking and illicit drug turnover. Arrangement for the conference will also be discussed at the meeting. The main strategy of the event’s agenda will be adopted.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov speaking about the threat of terrorism said that Azerbaijan was the victim of terrorism. Beginning from 1980, Armenia committed terrorist acts in different regions of Azerbaijan, as well as in the territories far from the battle field. Thousands of Azerbaijanis suffered from these terrorist acts. 20 per cent of Azerbaijan’s territories were occupied by Armenia and one million people became refugees.
Giving information about Khojaly genocide committed by Armenians Khalaf Khalafov said that Armenia has not yet answered for its actions.
Decision on organizing conference of heads of law-enforcement bodies of OIC members was made in Baku Declaration adopted in the 33rd session of Organization of Islamic Conference Foreign Ministers’ Conference in Baku on July 19-21, 2006. Azerbaijan initiated on holding the meeting of experts and it was supported. /APA/
