Matthew Bryza: Azerbaijan may not have enough gas for Nabucco pipeline

He suggested Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan’s joining the project because Azerbaijan’s natural gas is likely not to fill the pipeline.
He expressed sureness that there will no problems while laying the subsea pipeline as Russia and Turkey extended the Blue Stream under the Black Sea.
“I don’t believe that there will be any territorial problems while laying the subsea pipeline via the Caspian Sea,” he added.
Zeyno Baran, Director of Hudson’s Center for Eurasian Policy, also backed Iraq’s participation in the Nabucco project. She said Iran’s presence in the project would cause the United States to disagree.
“However, the Nabucco project participants can cooperate with Iraq, Iran and Russia,” she said. / APA /
