Azerbaijani Emergencies Ministry’s delegation pays working visit to London
Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov invited responsible officials to Azerbaijan for discussing concrete projects.
Emergencies Ministry leadership also visited headquarters of London Fire Brigade for learning experience of British counterparts, their working methods and principles. The leadership of the above-said organization gave information about London firefighting system, the sides exchanged views on the issues arousing mutual interest. Following this, Azerbaijani delegation met with head of Emergency Planning College (EPC), General Michael Charlton Vide in the headquarters of Cabinet of Ministers.
Mr. Heydarov stated that highly-qualified specialists function in Emergencies Ministry and they need additional professional staff.
Strengthening contacts between EPC and Emergencies Ministry in qualifying personnel were also debated at the meeting.
Following this, Azerbaijani delegation had meeting with Michael Davenport, Foreign Office Director for Russia, South Caucasus and Central Asia. Kamaladdin Heydarov spoke about political, economic and social reforms carried out by the Azerbaijani government and gave information about the country’s recent achievements. They also touched upon the arsons committed by Armenians the occupied Azerbaijani territories.
Reaction of relevant state bodies to the emergency situations, coordination of the bodies’ activities in removing their results was analyzed on the last of the visit, at the meeting with Shainila Pradhan, head of Emergency Situations Center.
The delegation also met with Jim Murphy, Minister for Europe in the framework of the visit. Mr. Heydarov spoke about the importance of Azerbaijan-Great Britain relations and our country’s activities carried out for the integration into Europe.
Jim Murphy said Great Britain attaches great importance to Azerbaijan and noted that our country entered unique European family.
Ensuring security measures during the implementation of oil projects, prospects of the cooperation between BP and Azerbaijani government were debated at the meeting with BP vice-president for Russia, CIS and Near East countries and the officials of the company’s emergency situations department. /APA/
