Arabian suspect searched in Azerbaijani city Sumgayit

Searching operations are mostly carried out in bus stations, markets where people are dense. Photo of Arabian has been distributed among the officers. He is supposed to be alone. The names of the establishments where he wanted to commit terror act have not yet been announced, his goal is not clear. The operation was held from 21.30 on October 10, from the moment law-enforcement bodies were informed. The investigation is being carried out at the same time, the materials are being collected.
Source in law-enforcement bodies stated that there are rumors as if Arabian who is suspected in preparing to commit a terror act had connection with the Arabian mosque located in 17th micro-district.
â€œIt seems that recognition of the mosque as â€œArabian mosqueâ€ caused this rumor,â€ they said.
State Committee for Religious Communities told the APA, activity of Arabian mosque was suspended as it was engaged in the propagation of Wahhabism several years ago.
â€œArabians constructed this mosque. This mosque does not function at present,â€ they said.
National Security Ministry does not give any information about the operation yet. /APA/
