British Minister Malcolm Wicks approves transportation of Turkmen gas to Europe through Azerbaijan and Turkey

He stated that he had several useful meetings in Turkey and Turkmenistan in the framework of his visit to the region.
â€œAnd I want to finish my visit in Azerbaijan and ask raised number questions in my own mind. We are having a very useful visit ranging quite wide. Obviously Azerbaijan is oil and gas rich country. UK and EU will have a grown demand for oil and gas in future. We are very interested particularly in the issue of opening submarine corridor linking oil rich Turkmenistan under the Caspian Sea through Azerbaijan and Turkey. So huge market for energy in EU can be accessed. I think itâ€™s all about interests for Azerbaijan,â€ he said.
Minister explaining his visit to Turkmenistan stressed that energy strategy of this country is being renewed.
â€œI regard that president of Turkmenistan realizes that he needs different customers for oil and gas. But he is very interested in the opening of corridor linking his country with EU through Azerbaijan and Turkey,â€ he said. /APA/
