If Azadliq alliance has been invited to roundtable on amendments in Election Code to be held between CE Venice Commission and Azerbaijani senior officials, it will attend discussions, deputy chief of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) Hasan Karimov told the APA.
He said that Azadliq alliance is the author of draft submitted by Venice Commission.
“Therefore we regard Azadliq alliance’s representatives’ participation in negotiations necessary. We want establishment of election commissions on parity principles,” he said.
Karimov stated that Azadliq alliance’s position in this issue is united.
“Head of Musavat Party and other organization men say that they also support formation of commissions on parity principles. I think they will not change their position and I highly assess Musavat’s position. I can not say anything about other opposition parties,” he said.
Member of Musavat Party’s Assembly Vurgun Ayyub did not comment on the issue and stated that they did not receive any appeal on roundtable.
“We will discuss it if receive any appeal. We also have proposals regarding election commissions and have sent it to Council of Europe (CE),” he said.
First deputy chief of Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) Hasrat Rustamov said that they will participate in negotiations if invited.
“We have several proposals. Negotiations carried out with Venice Commission for a long time should give efficient result,” he said. /APA/
