Today Managing Board of the United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party held the next meeting. The party’s press service told APA that one of the main issues discussed at the meeting was the construction of Atomic Power Plant for ensuring the country’s energy security. The party supported Azerbaijani government’s raising the issue vis-à-vis the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and its efforts on constructing the next generation Atomic Power Plant that will ensure energy security in the country.
The party’s managing board also discussed extending Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway station to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
It was noted that United Azerbaijan Popular Front Party has always attached great importance to Baku–Tbilisi-Kars railway project.
The party considers that extension of the railway from Kars to Nakhchivan will not only allow Nakhchivan’s coming out of blockade, but also expand economic relations with border regions of Turkey and give impetus to the implementation of joint projects.
From this aspect, Managing Board of the party calls on the government to extend the cooperation for implementing these initiatives. /APA/
