ECO Foreign Ministers’ next meeting due to be held in Afghanistan

The next meeting of Foreign Ministers of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states is expected to be held in the city of Herat in Afghanistan. Afghan media reports that the agreement was reached during the visit of Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister to Iran.
Azerbaijani embassy in Pakistan also accredited in Afghanistan told APA that the meeting will probably be held in this country.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will also attend the meeting. The date of the meeting has not been fixed yet due to the tension in Afghanistan.
Economic Cooperation Organization was founded by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey in 1985. Afghanistan and post Soviet countries – Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan became the members of the organization in 1992. /APA/
