The Committee aims to bring the attention of the world community to the condition of Azerbaijanis detained in Iran’s jails and who undergo torture. The organization is intending to gather information about the fate of detained activists in Iran – Said Matinpur, Saleh Karimi, Abdulla Abbas Cavan, Jalil Ganuli and Bahruz Safari.
Amnesty International and other influential international human rights organizations recognized them as prisoners of conscience. The Committee also appealed to international human rights organizations and media representatives to focus on the developments in South Azerbaijan. /APA/
