U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan meets IDPs in Agjabedi region

The U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne E. Derse met with IDPs from Lachin region settled in Takhtakorpu settlement, APAâ€™s local bureau reports. The diplomat made a speech in Azerbaijani language in front of IDPs attending the opening ceremony of the hospital built though the International Rescue Committee by the US financial support. The Ambassador stressed that Azerbaijan would not be able to us its real potential as long as IDPs get back to their homeland. She said that the US wants the Nagorno Karabakh conflictâ€™s peaceful solution and is making more efforts towards this.
â€œWe can never forget that thousands of people passed away, thousands were displaced during the occupation of Azerbaijani territories. The US and international humanitarian organizations from the US will implement joint projects and programs with Azerbaijani government to improve living standards of IDPs who are living under tough socio-economic conditions till Nagorno Karabakh conflict is resolved,â€ Ms. Derse stressed./APA/
