“Establishing a political alliance that will support Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy in presidential elections in 2008 is not on the agenda,†deputy chairman of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), executive secretary Ali Ahmadov said, APA reports. He expressed his confidence that the majority of the voters will support Ilham Aliyev.
“Absolute majority of the population in Azerbaijan supports Ilham Aliyev. This support may be in different forms, as well as in the form alliance. But I think there is no need of forming an alliance. The surveys show that the great majority of the people will support Ilham Aliyev in presidential elections,†he said. /APA/
