New round of talks between the US and Russia on missile defense will take place in Moscow in September, APA reports quoting RIA Novosti
Russian Armed Forces chief of staff Yuri Baluyevsky said that the US is ready for cooperation in this issue. Washington assumes that Russia’s proposals should complete the US’s plans on deploying missile defense district in Europe. Russia is against this plan. Mr.Baluyevsky thinks that Gabala radar, as well as Russian based radar station should be used to avert missile threat. General briefed journalists after having met deputy defense minister of Czech M.Bartak saying that Russia will take relevant measures to ensure its security if Czech deploys US’s missile defense systems in its territory.
M.Bartak underlined that this issue should not affect the US-Czech relations. It has not yet been specified whether or not Azerbaijani representatives will take part in US-Russian negotiations to be held in September in Moscow./APA/
