Maharram Aliyev: By resigning I did not lose

- Rumors spread about you after your resignationâ€¦
- Misinformation spread that my money - $150mln. was taken abroad, that my 9-storey building was exploded, I was arrested and fled. I wonder if there is any fact about it. A man will need a lorry to carry $150mln. No one has ever taken $150mln. abroad by plane. Firstly this is impossible and secondly there is no such a fact.
- And what about explosion in your 9-storey building?
- I am unaware of it. If a building had been exploded somewhere, the fact would have been recorded.
- Your leaving abroad after your resignation was not met unanimously...
- I left for a foreign country for my private affairs. I traveled and returned. I was engaged with my familyâ€™s problems.
- Some high ranking police officers were dismissed after your resignation. Does it have any connections to you?
- Itâ€™s nonsense. I do not want to comment on this case. People know everything. Let those who work there express their position on the case. I will take a stance when necessary. I always state that everybody is responsible for himself.
- They say that you had close relations with the dismissed persons â€¦
- The police are around me. I always treated everybody equally. I have never been biased against anyone. We praised those who worked well and punished those who did not work well. The dismissed police officers are not close to me.
- Baku Main Police Office was inspected after your resignation. What is your assessment regarding it?
- Nothing was said about me after inspection. Only one thing is mentioned there that there were slight embezzlements in the office. This office is not plant. There could not be any embezzlement there. All are working for salaries. All personal staff and society know how I had worked. I said in an interview last time that I resigned honestly. Everyone has his own opinion. I never sued any journalist for disinformation written about me during my being in the post. I have never required punishment of any journalist who wrote about me, and it will be so after it.
- But several irregularities have been stressed while announcing the results of inspections contrary to your claimsâ€¦
- There are no any facts like unrevealed crimes, negligence, illegal imprisonment.
- More than a month passed since your resignation. You said that your resignation is connected with your taking another position.
- Yes, I said that my resignation is connected with my taking other position. If I have been offered any position at present, I will examine it and make a decision. It does not depend only on me, the issue will be probably solved soon.
- No one has been appointed to the post of the head of Baku Main Police Office yet. And what is linked with?
- Baku police had a lot of contributions during my tenure. Law and order was preserved in the capital, incidents were removed at once. Of course, there was slight negligence. All were appreciated due to their work. City police served state and nation. This service is being continued at present. I do not know who will be appointed to my post. This issue has been exaggerated. A lot of senior officials resigned from their posts since now. A lot of praised works have been done during the then Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyevâ€™s tenure and it is continued at present. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is pursuing successful domestic and foreign policy. More than 500 thousand working places have been opened, reforms have been carried out. Capital police have a lot of contributions in these measures. Mood of population has increased. Truthfulness always wins. I invite all not to lose justice. I have always been just. I advise others to be so. The head of the state has always praised my work and it continues at present.
- One of the stressed issues in media is linked with your losing to Ramil Usubovâ€¦
- This is an erroneous point of view. Everything has beginning and end. I offered my resignation and time will show everything. /APA/
