Baku hosts 21st meeting of CIS Intergovernmental Council for Emergencies

Deputy Emergencies Minister Faig Tagizade made a speech and brought some statistic information to attendees’ notice.
Mr.Tagizade underlined that the Ministry of Emergency Situations contributed to Iran, Lebanon and Palestine Autonomy it was newly-established, though. International relations of Emergencies Ministry expand gradually, activities are carried out to qualify the workers of the ministry and to enlighten people on the emergency situations.
F.Tagizade briefed journalists that issues such as people’s safety and coordination of joint operation in emergency situations among the CIS states will be discussed in the meeting. He said that Azerbaijan has signed a number of documents and memorandums with some of CIS states on joint operation. Speaking of Armenia’s participation in the meeting, Mr.Tagizade said that it is Yerevan’s business:”We do not invite any country to the meeting of Intergovernmental council. That is in the power of the council. We just organize the meeting. If Armenia has not come, it is Yerevan’s own business” added Mr.Tagizade. Following this, Deputy Emergencies Minister Rafael Mirzayev was elected the chairman of the council as Azerbaijani side proposed. Belarus representative Valentin Karpitski was the chairman of the council before.
The representative of Executive Committee of CIS Intergovernmental Council for Emergencies Vicente Trepashko put forth his offers on the plan for exchange of information in CIS states on emergency situations./APA/
