The rights defender said that the working group debated on the state of human rights, ill-health prisoners and imprisoned journalists.
The working group agreed on appealing to the State Pardon Commission for releasing imprisoned journalists.
“We hope that humane measures will be taken about the imprisoned journalists,†he said.
The rights defenders also raised issue on release of ill-health prisoners.
“We presented the names of ill-health Farrukh Aliyev, Latif Abbasov, Parviz Mammadov, Rasim Akbarov, Mushfig Madatov to the members of the government members of the working group and asked to release them,†he said.
The rights defenders also debated on life-term prisoners who demand commuting their life sentence to 15-year imprisonment.
Members of the working group noted the necessity of holding such meetings regularly. The next meeting of the working group will be held in September. /APA/
