The June plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) started with the meetings of political groups, APA correspondent accredited to PACE reports.
PACE plenary session held today will start with the assertion of its agenda, then Austrian Federal Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer will address before the parliamentarians. Though direct debates regarding Azerbaijan are not intended during the PACE session, organization’s committee and subcommittees will carry out debates regarding our country. Issues rousing interest in the session are GUAM member-states’ parliamentarians’ meeting and meeting of Subcommittee for Nagorno Karabakh. Members of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE are expected to address the session. The member of delegation, Azerbaijani MP Ganira Pahayeva’s inquiry addressed to Council of Europe Committee of Ministers regarding “presidential elections” to be held in the occupied Azerbaijani region of Nagorno Karabakh has been published and distributed to parliamentarians. Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic chairing COE Committee of Ministers on June 28 will address the meeting. Ganira Pashayeva is expected to address the analogical question to the chairman of the Committee of Ministers. /APA/
