Draft declaration of Caspian heads of states coordinated

Azerbaijanâ€™s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov was on visit to Islamic Republic of Iran on June 20-21, the ministryâ€™s press service told the APA.
Elmar Mammadyarov participated in the conference of Caspian statesâ€™ foreign ministers. The minister underlined that the Caspian sea should be the sea of friendship, security and stability. Touching upon the status of the sea the minister said the problem can be solved on the basis of the agreements signed by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia. Kazakhstan supported the proposal. CommuniquÃ© was adopted on the results of the conference. The communiquÃ© says that the ministers coordinated the draft declaration of the Caspian heads of states and will present it to the residents. The presidents will set the date of the summit. Iran will present its offers on the summitâ€™s agenda to all littoral states.
Elmar Mammadyarov had bilateral meetings with foreign ministers.
The minister participated in the opening ceremony of Heydar Aliyevâ€™s bust in Azerbaijani embassy. Azeri minister met with chairman of Islamic Consultative Assembly Haddad Adel and his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki on June 21.
The two ministers exchanged views on transportation of Central Asian gas to Azerbaijan through Iran, Iranâ€™s involvement in the BTC, North-South transport corridor, Nakhchivan-Bilasuvar, Julfa-Julfa and Astara-Astara projects.
Iranian Minister got interested in Azerbaijanâ€™s position on Russiaâ€™s initiative regarding Gabala radar station. Elmar Mammadyarov said that Gabala radar station belongs to Azerbaijan and can be exploited only with Azerbaijanâ€™s consent. The minister also underlined that Azerbaijan-Russia-US cooperation would stability factor for the region. Elmar Mammadyarov gave broad information about Armeniaâ€™s aggressive policy and stated that it poses threat to the regional stability. Mr.Mottaki said that they support the solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict in the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity. /APA/
