Some issues on amendments to Electoral Code coordinated

â€œElections will certainly be held for vacancies in the parliament. We will contact Central Election Commission to clarify the situation,â€ head of Parliamentâ€™s office Safa Mirzayev told a press conference.
He said that Central Election Commission will determine the date of the elections for vacancies.
Commenting on proposals on application of mixed election system Mirzayev said that there is no need for it.
He noted that application of mixed election system requires referendum and amendments to the constitution.
Safa Mirzayev said that the working group held several rounds of negotiations on amendments to the electoral code.
â€œWe will not make any statement unless the process is over. I can only say that agreement was reached on some issues. Another meeting will be held late in August or early in September. Depending on the negotiations, concrete amendments to the Code will be determined and submitted to the President and following this will be sent to the parliament,â€ he said. /APA/
