Azerbaijani representative appointed Council of Europe Expert Committee chairman

Next meeting of Council of Europe (CE) Steering Committee for Equality between Women and Men was held in Strasbourg, France on June 12-15, APA reports.
Specialist on gender problems Momunat Omarova represented Azerbaijan in the event. Documents regarding various activity fields of the organization and main directions of the cooperation for next period were debated in the framework of the committee. Elections for the post of chairman of the Steering Committee were held in the meeting, Azerbaijani specialist Omarova was appointed to this post unanimously.
The decision was made on carrying out CE Ministersâ€™ Conference responsible for equality between women and men in Baku in 2010. /APA/
