“Approximately 75 percent of Amasia population emigrated from Azerbaijan”. Professor Ibrahim Yildirim told the symposium in the subject “Azerbaijani’s Turkish culture transported to Amasia and Shirvan residents”. According to him the symposium dedicated to the anniversary of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk’s arrival to Amasia. “The scientists from Turkish universities participated in the symposium. My report in the symposium attracted people’s attention. I would like my article to be published in Azerbaijan. Approximately 75 percent of Amasia people are of Azerbaijani origins. According to my researches, first Azerbaijanis came to Azerbaijan in the 13th century. At that time Pir Ilyas Amasi arrived in Turkey and received lessons from Seikh Sadradin for seven years.
Seyid Yahya Shirvani, one of his supporters came to Amasia too. Then Shirvan was a good place for education. Many scientists and religious figures cam to Shirvan from central Asia and many of them emigrated to Amasia. In the prosperous times of Osmanli empire there were 18 thousand madrasa students in Amasia. Amasia requires researches. Every Azerbaijani should visit Amasia”./APA/
