“Azerbaijan-Georgia relations are on the level of firm, constructive and strategic cooperation. If somebody appeals to somewhere, it should not be regarded as Georgia’s position,” head of Azerbaijani delegation to Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Samad Seyidov told the APA. Commenting on Georgian Labor Party’s appeal to the Council of Europe on establishing a special commission on the state of Georgians living in Azerbaijan, Samad Seyidov said that hundreds of different appeals on Azerbaijan were sent to the Council of Europe.
“Are all of them true? Appeal and a state’s position differ from each other. If somebody appeals, this is his own business. There are forces, who want to damage Azerbaijan-Georgia relations, but these relations are firm, they have historical, cultural and economic basis. These efforts can not damage our relations,” he said.
Mr. Seyidov said that they always cooperate with Georgian delegation to PACE and it will continue.
“We always support each other. We make joint initiatives and we have still much to do about it,” he said. /APA/
