Samad Seyidov: Issues on Council of Europeâ€™s expected mission should be studied in a balanced and unbiased way

there are many issued that Azerbaijan can be showed as example to Europe in the debates on international and interreligious relations, head of Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov told the APA exclusively.
Noting that Azerbaijan will take up chairmanship of GUAM Mr. Seyidov said parliamentary delegations of GUAM member states to PACE are jointly operating and have already concluded several documents on joint initiative.
He said it will continue in June session. Samad Seyidov noted that June session will be of great importance for Azerbaijan and commented on the holding the meeting of the Subcommittee on Nagorno Karabakh during the session.
â€œThe subcommittee met without Armeniaâ€™s presence in April, therefore no specific issue was debated. We are ready to negotiate at June session, we have never avoided negotiations, debates on the Nagorno Karabakh.
The developments show that Armenian position is far from constructiveness. I can say as the head of delegation that we are prepared to participate in the meeting of the subcommittee at the session, as to the Armenian side it is their own affair,â€ Mr.Seyidov said.
Replying to the question â€œCouncil of Europe Secretary General explained the delay of PACE ad hoc commissionâ€™s visit to the region for monitoring cultural monuments in Nagorno Karabakh and adjacent regions with Azerbaijani and Armenian governmentâ€™s not giving consent to the mission Mr.Seyidov said that there should be a common decision and agreement of Armenia and Azerbaijan to conduct this monitoring. We never object to anything, but this event shows that we come across paradoxical situation regarding several matters. Because Armenia is not completely ready for that as they know how many monuments have been destructed in Nagorno Karabakh,â€ he underlined.
The parliamentarian said that sending mission is rather than the affair of the Council of Europe.
â€œWe expressed our positive opinion regarding every mission, but the issues concerning mission should be studied in a balanced and unbiased way,â€ the delegation head said. /APA/
