Yossi Gal: If Azerbaijan decides to open Embassy in Israel we will become happy and provide proper assistance

Today Israel Foreign Minister’s Deputy Director General for political affairs Yossi Gal held a press conference on his visit to Azerbaijan. Yossi Gal said he met Ministers of Economic Development, Foreign Affairs, Communication and Information Technologies and several state officials and was in Sanghachal oil terminal. He stated that he is pleased with the current situation of Israel-Azerbaijan relations and its development tempo. He said political relations are in high level, economic and cultural relations are developing. Diplomat said next week a group of Israel businessmen is arriving in Baku stressing intensified mutual visits. Israel’s official answering journalists said project on developing cooperation in high technology and telecommunication is being drafted. He said cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel includes agricultural sphere reminding that his country made serious achievements in the mentioned field. According to diplomat if Azerbaijan decides to open Embassy in Israel they will be happy and provide proper assistance. Yossi Gal also evaluated Middle East conflict’s current state saying that regional forces are divided into two front- moderates and extremists. He appreciated HAMAS, “Hezbollah” and Iran, which support them as extremists.
Answering APA’s question on possible impacts of Russia’s proposal to the US on jointly use of Qabala radar on regional security issues he said he closely watched processes not giving comments. “Israel and the US are allies. Russia and Azerbaijan are our friends. It is their own work to hold consultations and make decision”.
Yossi Gal is to leave for Tashkent, Uzbekistan today. /APA/
