“Adoption of a new statute of the World Azerbaijanis Congress will prevent its uncoordinated activity. We want a more effective body to be established,” chairman of World Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC) assembly Sabir Rustemkhanli told the APA. He said as members of legislative body of the congress live in various foreign countries, their gathering is always a problem. Rustemkhanli said that reforms will be carried out in World Azerbaijanis Congress to prevent it.
“The WAC members have never gathered up to now. They live in different countries. Some even have no telephones. The new regulations of World Azerbaijanis Congress will be debated in Köln, Germany on July 7-8. If the new regulations are adopted, the assembly will be abolished. An effective body will be set up instead of it,” he said.
Rustemkhanli said he does not worry about the abolition of the assembly.
“Though I am chairman of WAC assembly, the congress’s activity is more important. There are always debates, but there is no problem that will cause anxiety. I think that the new regulations will contribute to the efficient activity of the congress,” he said.
He also underlined that they have divergence with WAC chairman Javad Derekhti. /APA/
