Special State Commission is established in Azerbaijan for releasing captured soldiers. That Commission deals with the releasing of captured people. Strangers can not interfere in the work of this commission, vice-speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Asgarov commenting on the measures taken for releasing Armenian-captured Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mammadov told the APA.
Vice-speaker underlined that State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons is dealing with the above-said problem at present.
“State Commission is taking measure on it. The results will soon be publicized,” he said.
State Commission told the APA the organization appealed to international organizations for the solution of the problem.
“This issue is the focus of attention of the commission,” they said.
Mammadov was drafted from Barda Military registration office and served in military unit in Gazakh. He was captured in neutral zone in Gazakh-Ijevan border, 15 kilometers far from the military unit he served on December 24. There was a report on his wishing to go to the third country.
Chairman of the Working Group of State Committee on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons Armen Kaprelyan said that Armenia had experience in sending hostages to a third country.
Kaprelyan confessed that they sent four captured-Azerbaijani soldiers to Norway in 1998-1999. /APA/
